I apologize in my lack of posts of late. Funny how working gets in the way of writing blogs.... Unless the blog is your work i guess. Anyways, that does not mean that I have not been reading.
I have been reading indeed....rich fare no less.....We'll come back to the new Sookie Stackhouse book but in the meantime, I wanted to write about the book I finished today, Trick of the Light. First of all, finding this gem was not easy. I was sucked into Rob Thurman's writing with her Cal series but I caught the second book in this series (which I will add, makes me cross). Finally, at a B&N I found the first tome.
The book sets up Trixa, the trickster goddess, hanging out in Vegas with her friend Leo. By luck and vim and vigor, she manages to have her vengeance on the killer of her brother. I like how Rob can weave a story -- disparate elements, partial omniscience and a character that lies to the reader. I'm into it.
